Ever since he was 10 years old, Dash has always enjoyed making movies using his toys, building blocks, and his friends when acting in front of the camera. As the years went on, he began creating and performing with puppets in his videos, uploading them to YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. He currently attends Emerson College in Boston, MA as a major in Visual Media Arts with a minor in Psychology. He works primarily in video editing for short film and advertising, but is also involved in the indie video game community as a sprite artist and programmer.

Dashiell attended the Summer Prague Program with Emerson College, a one month intense film program where students learn Czech Film History and shoot a 5 - 7 minute film in one day, then present a cut to the staff at the final screening.

Dashiell Alexander served as the Editor, Sound Recordist, Poster Design and Co-Directed with his film partner Katerina Lecourezos. The film currently has 23 festival entries across the globe - with 5 of those entries being winners!

For his Introduction to Analog Film Class, Dash decided to challenge himself for his final to be a stop-motion-like animatic This film uses a mixed medium of scratching and coloring film, double exposure, and reversing the footage.

Emerson College’s Game Development Club held a Game Jam for students who were interested in creating and showcasing a visual novel game only in 2 weeks. Dash decided to take a shot and make a short game within the time frame and presented “Feast of Fools” at the Fall 2025 EGDC Game Jam.

White Knuckle Ride is a fast-paced roller-coaster survival game where two mimes must avoid clown targets, tall puppets, and tinker toys to make it to the end. 

White Knuckle Ride was made for the VM364 “3D Computer Gaming class” at for the Spring 2026 Semester at Emerson College. Many components still need to be polished and some UI components have technical errors - but this is an overall outlook on what the game could be with the addition of new levels, enemies, and polished mechanics.

For the first assignment of Intro to Narrative Drama, students were assigned a very simple script, and could do whatever they want to shoot it, except for changing a single line.

Dashiell Alexander assisted as the Sound Recordist and made the final cut as the Editor and Poster Designer.

After getting familiar with some analog film equipment, Dashiell and his roommate/film partner Josh teamed up to shoot and cut a short film on 16mm.

Dash portrayed the role of The Author and enjoyed his time on the Steenbeck as the Editor, and topped it off as the Poster Designer.

In a very low-stakes game of Go Fish, J.J messes with his friend Charles by pulling an old joke that confuses the dealer's name at a famous casino.

The second assignment of Intro to Narrative Drama was to create a very short film in just about two weeks.

Dash portrayed the role of J.J and tied things together as the Editor.

VM243 - Introduction to Narrative Drama

Arabella is a dancer preparing for an audition. She practices alone in a studio until she is completely exhausted. Later, she calls her mom, and it is revealed that Arabella hasn’t been taking care of herself. She relies on medication to stay well, and she isolates herself from her peers. At the audition, her body fails her, and she passes out on stage.

For one final assignment in Intro to Narrative Drama, three groups had to write, direct, and edit a short film ranging from 5 - 10 minutes in length.

Dash continued his efforts as the Editor and also helped on set as the Sound Recordist.

Dashiell Alexander assisted as an Environments Animator for the stop-motion animated short “Cast Out”, which has won 3 awards from the student-run award show “The EVVY Awards” as well as several other festival awards.

“The EVVY Awards is the largest student-produced, multi-camera, live-broadcast award show in the country. Modeled after the Academy Awards and the Emmys, The EVVYs honors student work in almost every discipline of study at Emerson College.”

Dashiell Alexander worked as the Post-Production Supervisor of the EVVY43 Awards. His job was to make nominee award packages for every category that was being presented for the 43rd Annual EVVY Awards!

Returning for another year, Dash has stepped out of Post-Production and has signed on to be a Camera Operator for the 44th Annual EVVY Awards!

Before his graduation in Spring 2027, Dash worked on the show one more time on the Utilities team for the 45th Annual EVVY Awards!

Bertrand Area Community Fund (BACF)

During Dashiell’s senior year, he was hired to work on a few advertisements for the BACF to promote the small business of the village of Bertrand. His top best works are “Bertrand’s Hallmark Christmas”, “Junebug Finds Her Forever Home”, and “Bertrand’s Fall Festival and Ladies Night Out.” He submitted a few of his works in his college applications, which is what led him to be accepted and enroll into Emerson College in Boston, MA as a Visual Media Arts Major.

Dashiell Alexander graduated with the Bertrand Class of 2023. Unlike other schools, this class has known and grown up with each other since the first day of Kindergarten. With it being their last year as a class together, Dashiell wanted to make their graduation special and memorable. So he volunteered to make the Bertrand Class of 2023 Graduation Video for his class and their families to enjoy.

Being a connection of the Animation Society at Emerson College, Dashiell was directly reached out to help on Millie and the Milkman by the director, Jacquis. Dashiell served as a Technical Associate Producer and will soon be working in post as the Sound Designer for FPS’ upcoming stop-motion short film “Millie and the Milkman”

Continuing their producing partnership, Arth reached out to Dash to be his Technical Executive Producer for the independent puppet noir project “Deadly Indecency”

Before Dash retires from the producing role at Emerson College, he is lined up to produce one more film with his friend Sam. He will serve as one of the Logistic Executive Producers in his upcoming BFA short film “Vale Li”
